If you are entering grades 5-8 and have been playing your instrument for about 2 years, then our Intermediate Classical Music Program is for you!

So join us this summer and immerse yourself in Classical Music!

Session A: June 29 - July 10


9:00 am - 3:45 pm (optional 6th class from 4:00 - 5:00 pm)

The goal of this program is for campers to experience 2 weeks of concentrated study improving what he/she knows and getting exposed to the idea of improvisation. Campers will spend 2 hours each day rehearsing in their Performing Ensembles plus have a technique class on their instrument and a Music Skills class! They also will enjoy our NEW "Intro to Improv" classes. Our Classical faculty are both performers and educators who are dedicated to giving campers the best experience possible And don't forget to save the date- we end camp with a concert where every camper performs with their class!


  • Entering grades 5-8 in the fall.
  • Has studied their instrument for at least 2 years.
  • Completed Book 2 of a standard music series in their instrument.
  • Younger students may enroll with a Teacher Recommendation.
  • All applicants who meet these requirements may enroll in the Camp.
  • All string and wind players must bring their own instrument to Camp.

DAILY SCHEDULE (9:00 A.M. - 3:45 P.M.)

9:00 - 10:00

Orchestra: For all strings and winds.
Piano Ensemble: Pianists work in small groups (duos, trios) in our state-of-the-art keyboard lab.

10:15 - 11:15

Our expert teachers develop technique in a small group setting.

11:30 - 12:00

LUNCH (Lunch is included in the camp tuition)
After our morning classes, we walk to the UM cafeteria. Campers will be able to select from the grill (hamburgers, hot dogs, French fries), salad bar, pizza, hot meal of the day, and the deli. There are also fresh fruits, desserts, and beverages.

MUSIC SKILLS-Classical: Our Faculty makes learning music skills fun!

1:30 - 2:30

INTRO TO IMPROV: this is your time to be creative and learn how to improvise - no experience necessary! Separate classes for Piano, Strings and Winds.

2:30 - 2:45

Snacks (chips, cookies) are served!

Jazz Rock Jam: jam out and have fun! - no experience necessary!
Piano Lab: whether you already play piano or if you want to learn, practice in our piano studio under the guidance of our expert instructors.

Private Instruction: Individual lessons with the Camp faculty!


Private lessons given by our camp staff may be scheduled after regular dismissal. The lessons are one hour long and all of the instructors are part of our camp faculty. The classes are held daily except for the last day of the session. When you register, you can select the day that you want. The camp cannot re-schedule a missed private lesson.


Supervised before and after care is available.
Before Care: 7:15 am - 9:00 am
After Care: 3:45 pm - 6:00 pm

NOTE: students who enroll in an optional class from 4:00 - 5:00, may be supervised in After-Care from 5:00 - 6:00 for no additional After-Care charge. Please notify the camp if this applies to your camper!

  • Review the Daily Schedule to learn about the classes offered, and choose your electives and optional classes.
  • The Camp will email our "Teacher Recommendation Form" to your child's music teacher. This is to confirm that your camper is in the correct level. Make sure you know the e-mail address of your school or private music teacher before you start to register.
