PROGRAM DESCRIPTION

With a full schedule filled with intensive classes, at the end of the session you will leave with a deeper understanding of classical music, with a contemporary twist! The curriculum includes Piano and Orchestra Seminars where you will learn how to listen and analyze music performances in an in-depth way, plus other topics relating to performance. Our new Classical/Crossover Orchestra will collaborate with our advanced jazz students. TECHNOLOGY REQUIREMENTS

All classes will be conducted on online.

PERFORMING ENSEMBLE CLASSES and THEIR FINAL CONCERT

Campers will be coached on their parts by their teachers. In order to appear in the Final Concert, campers will need to record their part on their home device and email it to the camp. Their camp teacher will guide them through this process.

REQUIREMENTS

  • For Piano, Strings, and Winds.
  • Entering grades 9-12 in the fall.
  • Recommended minimum of 3 years experience on your instrument.
  • Qualified younger students should submit a teacher recommendation and send a 5 minute audition of a solo performance.

SEMINARS - Orchestra and Piano
Learn the skill of listening - what makes a great orchestra stand out... or a great solo performance truly amazing. Work on All-State prep and auditions, get tips on the art of effective practicing, and much more!

11:15 - 12:15

ENSEMBLES
Classical/Crossover Orchestra: Students will be coached by faculty according to their instrument.
Piano Duet Ensembles: Pianists are grouped in pairs to study duets.

We offer 2 levels, fundamentals and advanced.

CLASSICAL MEETS IMPROV
Contemporary String Ensemble
Piano Skills Ensemble (sight reading, improvising, keyboard harmony)

Private Instruction: Individual lessons with the Camp faculty!

PRIVATE LESSONS

Private lessons given by our camp staff may be scheduled after regular dismissal. The lessons are one hour long and all of the instructors are part of our camp faculty. The classes are held daily except for the last day of the session. When you register, you can select the day that you want. The camp cannot re-schedule a missed private lesson.

HOW TO APPLY

  • Review the Daily Schedule to learn about the classes offered, and choose your electives and optional classes.
  • The Camp will email our "Teacher Recommendation Form" to your child's music teacher. This is to confirm that your camper is in the correct level. Make sure you know the e-mail address of your school or private music teacher before you start to register.
